French dining favourite Merci Marcel has opened its fifth and most elevated outpost yet—this time along the scenic riverside stretch of Robertson Quay. With the support of Michelin-starred Chef Bruno Ménard, the new location brings a fresh take on modern French gastronomy, offering a refined yet relaxed dining experience that’s equal parts charming and contemporary.

Housed within a restored 19th-century warehouse, the space evokes the charm of the French Riviera—original archways, a breezy outdoor terrace, and a coastal-inspired interior set the scene for long, easygoing meals by the water. Whether you’re stopping by for a casual dinner or celebrating something special, this new location sets the tone for a different kind of French experience in Singapore.

Chef Bruno Ménard—whose three-decade career has spanned Paris, Tokyo, and Singapore—worked closely with the Merci Marcel team to develop a menu that celebrates the essence of French cuisine with modern touches and international influences. “We’re focusing on what really matters: great ingredients, time-honoured techniques, and bold, expressive flavours,” says Ménard.

Starters range from the indulgent Cévennes onion soup, featuring pan-seared foie gras and truffle Chantilly, to lighter bites like beetroot tartar and crab croquettes with a playful chilli crab mayo. For mains, there’s the luscious wild porcini ravioles in creamy cep sauce, a beautifully roasted chicken breast with tomato-raspberry jus, and a standout grilled ribeye steak (600g) served with Kampot pepper and crispy string potatoes. Seafood lovers will appreciate the poached snapper and scallop quenelle—a nod to classical French technique.

Dessert is no afterthought here. The rum baba—based on Ménard’s father’s recipe—is elevated with passionfruit glaze and Plantation Dark Rum. Other sweet finishes include a warm chocolate espuma and coconut spoom, showcasing inventive takes on traditional flavours.

To complement the menu, Merci Marcel offers a tightly curated French wine list, spotlighting both prestigious labels and boutique producers. Wine lovers can look forward to bottles like the Saint-Julien 2006 from Château Léoville Barton or a 2021 Nuits-Saint-Georges from Domaine Jean Chauvenet—selections chosen not just for pedigree, but for their ability to enhance the food on the table.

“This new opening is an exciting chapter for us,” says Merci Marcel co-founder Marie-Charlotte Ley. “We’re bringing a refined but approachable side of French cuisine to one of Singapore’s most vibrant dining destinations. Bruno’s vision has added depth and elegance to our menu, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone in.”

Open from 8:00am to 12:00am, Tuesday to Sunday, Merci Marcel Robertson Quay offers all-day dining, with the kitchen running till 10:30pm. Whether you’re in the mood for a morning pastry, a sunset apéritif, or a decadent dinner, it’s a destination that brings together the best of French hospitality and Singapore’s riverside lifestyle.
