Uni Gallery, the popular Japanese casual fine dining restaurant located at The Plaza, will be closing its doors after a remarkable seven-year run. Founder Jason Ong, who originally entered the restaurant industry to showcase the fresh seafood he distributed business-to-business in Singapore, is shifting his focus to a new venture in seafood distribution by expanding his operations with a new office in Japan.
Uni Gallery has been a pivotal platform for Jason, opening numerous doors in the seafood business and solidifying his reputation in the industry. The restaurant has delighted patrons with innovative dishes and has become a trendsetter in the culinary scene.
Notably, the restaurant has sold over 50,000 Uni oyster shots and 30,000 Uni sampler sets, the latter being the only offering of its kind in Singapore (possibly worldwide) with up to six different types of sea urchin on a single platter. The much sought-after Uni Chirashi don has seen over 40,000 sales, particularly popular during lunch promotions.
