If you’ve ever wished your favourite local dessert could be turned into a cocktail, Anthology Singapore has done just that—and then some. Nestled along Circular Road in a heritage shophouse, the bar’s newest menu, Old Street Dessert Shop, transforms Singapore’s most nostalgic sweets into cocktails inspired by local desserts, crafted with Singapore-made spirits.
Developed in partnership with Compendium Spirits, Singapore’s largest homegrown distillery, the collection brings together innovation and heritage in six creative cocktails that start from S$22.
Each drink is a sensory throwback. The Bandung cocktail, for instance, blends Chendol gin with lychee, rose, and Bandung soju, finished with a cloud of warm lychee foam. It’s both floral and familiar, playful yet elegant.
Meanwhile, the Soursop offers a zesty take with Melaka arrack, apple liqueur, honey, and a gold-dusted nata de coco for a tropical twist. Then there’s Chng Teng—perhaps the most surprising of the lot—built around Longan Distilled Honey Spirits and layered with notes of winter melon, red dates, and white fungus for a cocktail that drinks like a dessert you grew up with.
Also on the list:
-
Kaya Toast – rich, aromatic, and full of breakfast nostalgia
-
Chendol – coconut, gula melaka, and pandan in cocktail form
-
Ice Kacang – a S$38 showpiece of whimsical texture and colour
Beyond the glass, Anthology’s food menu takes a similarly inventive approach to Singaporean flavours. The Signature Rendang Ragu (S$32) is hearty and comforting, reworking the classic into a pasta-style dish using slow-cooked short ribs. For a vegetarian bite, the Laksa Tau Pok (S$16) soaks tofu puffs in a fragrant, spicy broth.
Small plates are punchy and varied—from Dang Gui Chilled Chicken Breast (S$14) and Orh Luak with house-made dressing (S$20) to the playful Goreng Pisang Tart (S$15). It’s a menu designed to share, savour, and surprise.
If you’re looking for a bar experience that goes beyond the usual cocktails and cheese platters, Anthology delivers a flavour-forward love letter to Singapore, served in a glass and on a plate.
