The Botanist Islay Dry Gin is partnering with Mondrian Singapore Duxton to take customers on the most sublime of educational journeys with a tasting flight showcasing the world’s most elegant of cocktails: The Martini.
The Martini – a gin cocktail famous for being served ‘as you like it’ – will be offered to guests in various small serves, each one representing one of the most popular ways the drink is made and showcasing the delicate, balanced and complex flavour of The Botanist gin.
The Botanist Martini Flight, priced at S$36++, will be available at Bottega di Carna until the end of September. Guests can sample delicious ice-cold small servings of a Perfect Martini, 50/50 Martini, Dry Martini, and Composition, before deciding for themselves how they like theirs. Composition is a Mondrian Singapore Duxton special and features The Botanist, Peach-blossom and lemon-infused Fino Sherry, with rosemary white wine vinegar.
The Martini cocktail, a classic dating back decades and synonymous with understated elegance and style, is a spirit-forward cocktail that perfectly showcases the complexity of The Botanist and highlights the 31 individual botanicals within. Currently undergoing a resurgence in popularity among the new generation of cocktail and gin enthusiasts, many of whom may not yet be familiar with the many ways the recipe can be twisted according to their own tastes, this simple cocktail will usually be met with the words ‘how do you like it?’ when ordered at the bar. With its deep layers of flavour and smooth and balanced spirit, The Botanist invites us to “look further,’ take a deep dive and decide once and for all which recipe is our favourite to order time and time again at the bar.
The Botanist continues its history of representing and honouring the Hebridean flora in Islay, Scotland with its sizable use of 31 botanical ingredients, 22 of which are locally sourced on the island. The brand’s dedication to provenance is visible through the continuous use of the elements from its Hebridean paradise, including revitalising its old Lomond still and harnessing the innovative expertise of its distillers. The spirit’s satiny smoothness and herbaceous notes create a Martini cocktail that is globally revered.
“We’re so excited to be celebrating The Botanist in this way with our customers,” said Oreal Goh, Trade Marketing Manager, Remy Cointreau. “The Martini cocktail really is the best way to showcase the unique, balanced and herbaceous flavours of the gin; it’s a cocktail that everybody wants to love but many do not yet know how to order in a way that appeals to their own palate. By sampling four classic variations on the recipe together, guests can sip their way through a delicious and educational journey with us, fall in love with The Botanist gin and the Martini, and go on to order the world’s most elegant cocktail with knowledge and confidence forever!”
Additionally, The Botanist will be taking over Mondrian Singapore Duxton from 24 June to 24 July, with curated The Botanist cocktail menus available at three dining destinations: Christina’s, Canyon Club, and Jungle Ballroom. The takeover reaches its peak on Saturday, 6 July 2024 with a Mad Men-themed party at Jungle Ballroom from 7pm to 2am. The party invites guests to relive the era when a three-martini lunch was par for the course among Madison Avenue’s creatives, depicted in the stylish 1960s American-period drama.
“The Botanist gin is the quintessential choice for crafting any martini, and this is due to its harmonious blend of botanicals. The delicate floral notes, zesty citrus, and a whisper of herbaceous intrigue ensure martini compositions that resonate with any discerning palate,” shares Adrian Besa, Head Bartender of Jungle Ballroom.
