1864, Sofitel Singapore City Centre, is debuting a new craft cocktail menu that serves to bring guests on an immersive voyage along the maritime silk road from 22 October 2022.
Named after and inspired by the year the Tanjong Pagar Dock Company was founded, the exemplary new creations are an ode to the district’s storied past. Tanjong Pagar, now famed for its range of dining options, cocktail joints, and majestic cultural monuments, was once a fishing village in the 1830s. It was only with the founding of the Tanjong Pagar Dock Company in 1864 that transformed the district into a prosperous hub port.
Cruise through five distinctive ports of call along the maritime silk road, from Italy, Kenya, India, Singapore to China, in this new craft cocktail menu. Each of the 15 cocktails on the menu are imbued with flavours that pay respect to the heritage and culture of the ports in centuries past.
Inoculation
Take for instance, Inoculation, a decadent creation inspired by the perfect Italian summer treat, gelato. Featuring Bulleit Rye Bourbon, Mancino Rosso, cherry syrup and chocolate bitters, the cocktail is playfully presented in a martini glass with a scoop of sorbet, ice cream cone and syringe.Tipsy Curry is another interesting concoction. Taking inspiration from Indian heritage, the cocktail is made with Bacardi Carta Blanca, Malibu, lime juice, pineapple juice and a dash of curry powder.
A Voyage Through the Maritime Silk Road cocktails are available all-day at the bar from 8:30am to 10:30pm, and priced at S$25++ each.
