Baker & Cook has reopened at the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) with an exclusive menu created specially for its heritage setting, blending the bakery’s New Zealand roots with flavours inspired by Asia.

The return marks a new chapter for the artisan bakery, which first opened in Singapore in 2012. Known for its handcrafted breads, pastries and specialty coffee, Baker & Cook continues to champion traditional baking methods centred around Little Johnny, its sourdough starter that has been nurtured since 1987.

An Exclusive Menu Inspired by Asia

Developed exclusively for the ACM outlet, the menu draws on familiar Asian flavours while staying true to Baker & Cook’s artisan baking philosophy.

Among the new pastries are the Golden Floss Croissant, which combines buttery laminated pastry with savoury floss, and the Scallion Cheese Pepper Croissant, bringing together aromatic scallions and a subtle peppery finish. The bakery’s classic Croque Monsieur also remains on the menu, alongside its daily selection of freshly baked breads made in-house using traditional techniques.

Local Flavours Meet Artisan Baking

Singapore-inspired flavours continue throughout the all-day dining menu.

Highlights include the Toasted Shokupan with Chilli Crab Sauce, which pairs Japanese milk bread with Singapore’s iconic chilli crab flavours, and the Hainanese Chicken Caesar Salad, a reinterpretation of the classic Caesar salad using one of Singapore’s best-loved dishes.

For those looking for heartier options, the menu features:

  • Allpress Coffee Glazed Pork Ribs, slow-cooked before being finished with a glaze infused with Allpress Coffee.
  • New Zealand Beef Brisket Rendang on Toast, served on Baker & Cook’s signature sourdough with poached eggs.
  • Seafood Laksa Spaghetti, combining creamy laksa flavours with pasta for a contemporary local-inspired dish.

Desserts with Kiwi Roots

Desserts pay tribute to the brand’s New Zealand heritage, with traditional Lamingtons available in both chocolate and strawberry flavours. Guests can also choose from an assortment of handcrafted donuts, cakes and freshly baked tarts.

Celebrating Community

To mark its reopening, Baker & Cook has partnered with Slowflo Run Club to organise a special weekend run. Members of the running community will also receive complimentary coffee during the reopening week, reflecting the brand’s longstanding focus on bringing people together through food and coffee.

A Pet-Friendly Café by the River

Located within the Asian Civilisations Museum, the café offers both indoor dining and a spacious outdoor seating area that welcomes pets. Its riverside location makes it an attractive stop for museum visitors, families and those exploring Singapore’s Civic District.
