Drunken Fish at Wynn Macau has earned a place on 50 Best Discovery, the international guide featuring notable restaurants, bars, hotels and vineyards around the world. The restaurant, which was previously recognised as a MICHELIN Selected establishment, is known for combining premium seafood with regional Chinese cooking, Asian flavours and an unusual emphasis on Moutai.

The recognition makes Drunken Fish the fourth Wynn venue to feature on the platform, alongside Wynn Palace, Chef Tam’s Seasons and Mizumi.

At the helm is Executive Chef Henry Zhang Zhicheng, whose cooking draws from different regional Chinese cuisines while incorporating flavours and techniques from across Asia.

Rather than relying solely on traditional seafood preparations, Chef Zhang explores how Moutai, the well-known Chinese baijiu, can complement savoury dishes.

Among the restaurant’s signatures is red-spotted grouper served with pickled tomato, chilli and Moutai. Another highlight is crispy chicken flambéed with Moutai, bringing an element of theatre to the table.

The menu places considerable emphasis on seafood, while the drinks selection extends to fine wines and premium spirits.

Seafood auctions at the dinner table

One of Drunken Fish’s more unusual features is its live seafood and wine auction, held on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Diners can bid on rare seafood and selected wines, adding an interactive dimension to the meal. It’s a departure from the usual restaurant experience, allowing guests to participate in selecting some of the seafood and bottles on offer.

Drunken Fish also houses what Wynn describes as Macao’s only Moutai-themed bar.

The bar offers a collection of rare Moutai expressions alongside cocktails incorporating the spirit. Wine enthusiasts can also explore bottles selected from the Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards.

The restaurant’s interiors draw inspiration from the ocean, with curved aquariums and contemporary finishes. Its 180-degree views of Wynn Macau’s Performance Lake give diners a vantage point for the resort’s water and light shows.

Another international recognition for Macao’s dining scene

50 Best Discovery features more than 3,500 restaurants, bars, hotels and vineyards worldwide following its July 2026 update. Venues are selected through votes from an international Academy of more than 3,000 industry experts.

Drunken Fish’s inclusion follows its earlier MICHELIN Selected recognition and adds another notable dining destination to Macao, which is designated a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.

For travellers planning a food-focused trip to Macao, the restaurant offers a combination of Chinese seafood, distinctive spirits and interactive dining experiences.
