Sunday lunch is getting a fresh twist at Lobster Bar & Grill as the restaurant launches a new season of its popular Guest Chef Sunday Roast series.

Taking place on selected Sundays from August to November 2026, the collaborative dining experience brings together four of Hong Kong’s most celebrated restaurants, each offering their own interpretation of the classic British Sunday roast. Diners can expect contemporary French, Vietnamese, Korean and Sichuan influences woven into the familiar three-course format.

Four Restaurants, Four Distinct Culinary Perspectives

Hosted at Lobster Bar & Grill at Island Shangri-La Hong Kong, the series celebrates the diversity of Hong Kong’s dining scene by inviting guest chefs to reinterpret one of Britain’s best-loved weekend traditions.

Each participating restaurant will create an exclusive starter, roast course and dessert, while Lobster Bar & Grill continues to provide the signature Sunday Roast experience that has become a weekend favourite among locals and visitors alike.

Meet the Guest Chefs

Plaisance by Mauro Colagreco

2 August 2026

The series begins with Plaisance by Mauro Colagreco, the contemporary French seafood restaurant inspired by the world’s oceans.

Executive Chef Mitsuru Konishi will lead the collaboration, bringing his experience from several Michelin-starred kitchens to create a menu that showcases refined seafood dishes and elegant French techniques.

SẾP

September welcomes SẾP, a contemporary Vietnamese restaurant known for its distinctive wood-fired cooking.

Executive Chef DoBee Lam draws on years spent exploring Vietnam’s regional food culture, creating bold dishes that balance traditional flavours with modern culinary techniques.

Hansik Goo

11 October 2026

October’s collaboration features Hansik Goo, Hong Kong’s Michelin-starred Korean restaurant.

Head Chef Park Seung Hun, who trained under acclaimed chef Mingoo Kang, will present a contemporary take on Korean cuisine while staying true to its rich culinary heritage.

Grand Majestic Sichuan

The final event in the series welcomes Grand Majestic Sichuan, where Chef Theign Phan explores the bold and complex flavours of Sichuan cuisine through a modern lens.

Drawing inspiration from her multicultural background and years studying regional Chinese cooking, Chef Theign’s menu promises a vibrant finish to the collaboration series.

The Signature Sunday Roast Experience

Lobster Bar & Grill’s Sunday Roast, created by Executive Chef Cary Docherty, has earned a reputation as one of Hong Kong’s most indulgent weekend dining experiences.

The regular three-course menu includes a selection of starters, a choice of roast meat or seafood accompanied by traditional sides, and a signature dessert.

For the Guest Chef editions, each visiting restaurant contributes its own exclusive three-course menu while maintaining the same premium dining format.

The regular Sunday Roast is priced at HK$898 + 10% per guest, while the special Guest Chef Sunday Roast experiences are available for HK$998 + 10% per guest.

Rather than simply showcasing visiting chefs, the series highlights the breadth of Hong Kong’s restaurant scene by bringing together four distinctly different cuisines under one roof.
