Millennium Hotels and Resorts (MHR) is marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October with a mix of interactive community activities and pink-themed food and drink across its six Singapore hotels. The month-long “Moments That Matter” campaign is held in partnership with Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF), with selected purchases contributing to the charity.

Threads of Care turns messages of support into donations

At the centre of the campaign is Threads of Care, an installation set up in the lobbies of all six MHR properties in Singapore. Guests and members of the public can collect a thread from the front desk, add their name and a message of encouragement, then tie it onto the display.

Once a hotel’s installation is filled, that property will donate S$1,000 to Breast Cancer Foundation. The idea is to turn individual messages of support for patients, survivors, caregivers and loved ones into a collective gesture with a direct fundraising component.

Throughout October, staff at MHR’s Singapore properties will also wear pink ribbons to encourage conversations around breast cancer awareness. Members of the public do not need to be hotel guests to participate in the Threads of Care installations.

For diners, the campaign offers a simple way to pair an afternoon tea, drink or snack with a small charitable contribution, while the lobby installations create another avenue for people to show support without making a purchase.
