Afternoon tea in Singapore has taken a more personalised turn.

Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore has partnered with local wellness brand Luli to introduce an AI-powered wellness afternoon tea, where guests receive a personalised herbal tea recommendation based on a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) assessment before settling in for tea and pastries by the Singapore River.

The collaboration marks the first time a hotel in Singapore has incorporated TCM diagnostic technology into an afternoon tea experience.

An afternoon tea that starts with an AI assessment

Instead of beginning with a pot of tea, guests first undergo a complimentary TCM assessment using Aiteaic’s AI Mirror.

The system uses a tongue scan and analyses features associated with TCM principles to identify an individual’s body constitution, such as Qi Deficiency, Damp-Heat or Yin Deficiency. The process takes less than 30 seconds. Based on the results, guests receive a personalised herbal tea recommendation from Luli’s collection of wellness teas.

The teas are brewed using Aiteaic’s nanobubble high-pressure extraction technology, which the company says preserves up to 97 per cent of the herbs’ active compounds. According to information provided by the company, the technology creates ultra-fine bubbles that increase the contact between water and herbal ingredients, allowing for a higher extraction yield than conventional brewing methods.

Ten herbal tea blends to choose from

The tea collection includes ten functional herbal blends inspired by ingredients commonly used in TCM.

Among the highlights are:

  • Ziziphus, Lily & Poria Tea, which offers floral and berry notes.
  • American Ginseng, Goji & Chrysanthemum Tea, a warming blend traditionally associated with vitality and circulation.
  • Tangerine Peel & Dendrobium Tea, featuring citrus notes and a smooth finish.
  • Malva Nut & Monkfruit Tea, a lighter blend often enjoyed for its cooling and soothing qualities.

Guests can also add a personalised wellness mocktail or a low-alcohol cocktail designed to complement their recommended tea profile.

Wellness-inspired treats with a TCM influence

The afternoon tea menu has been created in collaboration with Luli and incorporates ingredients inspired by traditional herbal remedies.

Among the desserts is the Ginseng Infused Chocolate 66%, a chocolate mousse infused with American Ginseng and Chrysanthemum Tea that combines rich cocoa flavours with delicate floral notes. Another highlight is the Chrysanthemum Chantilly, where whipped cream infused with chrysanthemum tea is paired with tea-soaked sponge cake.

The experience aims to present TCM in a format that feels familiar and accessible, combining personalised wellness recommendations with one of Singapore’s favourite afternoon rituals.
