A beloved name in Singapore’s food scene has found a new home. Saffrons, known for its bold Indian Muslim flavours and no-fuss comfort food, has officially opened its latest outlet at Wisma Geylang Serai (WGS)—and the move couldn’t feel more fitting.

With a legacy that stretches back nearly 30 years, Saffrons has long been a go-to for dishes like Nasi Briyani, Mee Goreng Special, and freshly made prata, served with a generous side of heritage and hospitality. The opening at WGS marks not just a business expansion, but a homecoming of sorts—planting roots in one of Singapore’s most culturally rich and diverse neighbourhoods.

Where Food, Culture, and Community Converge

Wisma Geylang Serai isn’t just another mall or community centre—it’s a space designed to celebrate the Malay-Muslim identity while welcoming all. With its vibrant mix of events, civic facilities, and now, well-loved eats, WGS serves as a cultural hub that blends the old with the new. And Saffrons fits right in.

“Once we saw the space, it just felt right,” shared Jani Noor, Director of Saffrons. The location offers foot traffic, heritage, and heart—key ingredients for what the brand hopes will be one of its most meaningful outlets yet.

Same Familiar Flavours, New-Gen Experience

What sets the WGS outlet apart? A brighter, more spacious layout with glass-panelled windows, an open kitchen, and seating for up to 140 guests. It’s the same Saffrons favourites in a more elevated, modern space that encourages diners to linger, connect, and enjoy.

Expect popular staples like Mee Kawen and signature prata, alongside exclusive new dishes created just for this outlet—Mee Goreng Tulang, Prata with Sambal, and hearty bowls of Sup Tulang.

And because this is 2025, there’s even a multi-function service robot to deliver dishes and clear tables, adding a playful tech twist to your next prata run.

A Legacy of Family, Flavour, and Forward Thinking

The story of Saffrons began in 1997 with Mdm Beevi Ayoob, who opened the first stall to support her family and put her children through school. Today, the brand continues to evolve while staying true to its roots—offering wholesome, flavour-packed halal meals that feel both nostalgic and current.

Jani sums it up: “We wanted to show what a heritage brand can look like when it evolves. It’s still comforting, still authentic, but with a fresh take. One day, we might even go 24 hours—make every day feel like Hari Raya.”

Why This Opening Matters

For Wisma Geylang Serai, the addition of Saffrons adds another dimension to the space’s mission: to be a living, breathing kampung in the city. It’s not just about programming and design—it’s about smells, sounds, and memories. And with Saffrons now part of the mix, WGS continues to serve as a gathering place that honours tradition while embracing the present.
