In a thoughtful and delicious tribute to cultural dialogue, National Gallery Singapore has teamed up with the three-Michelin-starred Odette for an exclusive four-course lunch menu, designed to complement its landmark exhibition, City of Others: Asian Artists in Paris, 1920s–1940s.

This unique collaboration reflects a shared mission: bridging Asia and France through both art and gastronomy. Chef-owner Julien Royer of Odette, who has long celebrated the intersection of French culinary traditions and Asian sensibilities, brings his signature style to a menu that mirrors the cross-cultural exchange central to the exhibition.

Available Tuesdays to Thursdays until 14 August 2025, the experience includes a curated four-course lunch at Odette priced at S$298++ per guest. Diners will enjoy an exquisite journey through starters, fish, meat, and dessert—each plate artfully composed and rooted in the philosophy of refined French cuisine with an Asian twist. The set also comes with a complimentary ticket to the exhibition at the Singtel Special Exhibition Gallery within the National Gallery Singapore.

A Window Into Interwar Paris

Running from 2 April to 17 August 2025, City of Others offers an in-depth look at the vibrant lives and works of Asian artists—such as Foujita Tsuguharu, Georgette Chen, Lê Phổ, and Sanyu—who lived and created in Paris during the 1920s to 1940s.

Spanning over 200 artworks and 200 archival materials, the exhibition moves beyond traditional Western art history to centre the experiences, relationships, and artistic contributions of Asian migrant artists in the French capital. These creatives shaped Paris’ modern art scene through painting, sculpture, decorative arts, and performance, often while negotiating their identity as outsiders.

Exhibition highlights include:

  • Self-portraits and identity studies from pioneering artists like Georgette Chen.

  • The influence of Asian artisans on the Art Déco movement, including rare lacquerware and collaborations with houses like Cartier.

  • A spotlight on Asian dance in Paris, from colonial exhibitions to avant-garde theatre.

  • Rare works shown at salons and galleries of the era, illustrating how artists navigated visibility, style, and modernity.

The exhibition, supported by Singtel and J.P. Morgan, is priced at S$25 for general admission, with concessions available for Singapore citizens and PRs.

Where Art and Appetite Meet

Whether you’re an art lover or simply looking for an exceptional dining experience, this pairing of City of Others and Odette is a rare cultural event where visual and culinary storytelling align.
