Hong Kong restaurant Ho Lee Fook will host Shenzhen’s Gem Garden for a one-night collaboration on 8 October 2026, bringing Cantonese and Chaoshan cooking together in a shared menu by Executive Chefs ArChan Chan and Xu Zhenkun.
The Ho Lee Fook x Gem Garden dinner is the first time Ho Lee Fook has welcomed a guest restaurant from Mainland China, while it also marks Gem Garden’s first event in Hong Kong. The menu is priced at HK$988 + 10% per guest.
Gem Garden brings its Chaozhou approach to Hong Kong
Founded in Shenzhen in 2020, Gem Garden is known for a modern approach to Chaozhou cuisine that keeps traditional techniques at its core. The restaurant holds a Black Pearl One Diamond rating and is listed in the MICHELIN Guide.
Executive Chef Xu Zhenkun has more than 30 years of experience in Chaozhou cuisine. At Gem Garden, he leads a kitchen of more than 20 chefs from the Chaoshan region, with an emphasis on seasonality, freshness and allowing ingredients to retain their natural character.
For this collaboration, Chef Xu joins Ho Lee Fook Executive Chef ArChan Chan, whose cooking is rooted in Cantonese flavours and the food she grew up eating in Hong Kong.

What is on the Ho Lee Fook x Gem Garden menu?
The dinner opens with a series of smaller dishes, including Marinated Foie Gras and Chenghai Goose in Chaoshan Brine, which combines foie gras with lion-head goose marinated in lu shui masterstock. This is followed by Chiu Chow-Style Marinated Raw Crab, Razor Clams with Thai Basil and Aged Garlic, and a Chiu Chow Seaweed Puff.
The broth course features Double-Steamed Broth with Short-Necked Clam and Fresh Fig.
Among the mains is Ho Lee Fook’s Kurobuta Pork Char Siu with Aged Preserved Daikon, pairing one of Chef ArChan’s signature dishes with a Chaoshan pantry ingredient.

Gem Garden contributes Threadfin in Seafood Broth with Shantou Preserved Mustard Greens and Silver Needle Noodles, finished tableside, as well as Wok-Fried Local Beef with Satay Sauce, served with Chinese celery, garlic shoots and Hunan chilli.
Wok-Fried Seasonal Greens with Chiu Chow Soybean Paste rounds out the savoury courses before dessert, which is a Taro Trio.
Tables of eight or more can also add Wok-Fried Local Lobster with 30-Year-Aged Tangerine Peel for an additional HK$1,288 per table.
