A Winter Menu Rooted in India’s Regal Culinary Traditions

Prince and the Peacock at Tai Kwun enters the winter season with a refreshed selection of dishes inspired by India’s former kingdoms, drawing influence from Himalayan broths, Mughal feasts and coastal preparations. Chef Palash Mitra continues the restaurant’s signature approach of blending regional heritage with contemporary finesse.

Seasonal Dishes Exploring Royal Lineages

The winter à la carte menu showcases interpretations of dishes linked to India’s princely states and historical culinary traditions.

The Thukpa, inspired by the Namgyal dynasty of Sikkim, offers a vegetarian broth layered with winter cabbage and bamboo shoot dumplings.

The Sandali Murgh channels the flavours of Rajasthan’s royal courts, featuring Three Yellow Chicken marinated with saffron, sandalwood and vetiver before being gently roasted for aromatic depth.

From Kerala, the Crab Claw Porichettu highlights green peppercorns, shallots and toddy vinegar — a tribute to coastal spice traditions.

The Kandhari Veal Shank, echoing Mughal culinary artistry, is slow-cooked with green papaya, ginger, Kandhari chillies and pomegranate syrup for a glossy, tender finish.
A winter palate cleanser rounds out the menu: a Pear, Lemon and Green Tea Sorbet, balancing sweetness with subtle herbaceous notes.

Christmas Lunch Service – 24 to 26 December

Prince and the Peacock will open for Christmas lunch for three days only, serving its full à la carte menu. The elegant heritage setting at the Central Magistracy makes it a fitting venue for festive gatherings, combining historic architecture with modern Indian culinary storytelling.

The Kohinoor Private Dining Experience
