Octomore Series 16: Bruichladdich’s Boldest Whisky Arrives in Singapore

Whisky lovers, brace yourselves — Bruichladdich Distillery is launching its most daring collection yet. The Octomore Series 16 lands in Singapore on 3 December 2025, bringing with it a three-day whisky exhibition at the Stamford Arts Centre and three experimental expressions that redefine the boundaries of peated Scotch.

Octomore isn’t your usual Islay malt. Forget the medicinal peat; this one’s all about dry, campfire smokiness and surprising finesse. Billed as “The Impossible Equation”, Octomore challenges conventions on age, peat levels, and strength — yet delivers rich, nuanced drams that continue to surprise with every sip.

What’s in the Bottle?

Three expressions make up the Series 16 lineup — all bold, complex, and evolving with time or a drop of water.

Octomore 16.1 kicks things off with 100% Scottish Mainland Concerto Barley, peated to a sky-high 101.4 PPM and matured for five years in first-fill bourbon barrels. At 59.3% ABV, expect notes of salted caramel, melon, apricot, and a finish of chocolate and coconut, all wrapped in earthy minerality and a soft wave of smoke.

Octomore 16.2 uses the same distillate as 16.1 but undergoes an entirely different cask journey. Aged in Oloroso and Bordeaux barrels, then finished in Madeira and Portuguese Moscatel casks, it offers a rich blend of roasted nuts, dried fruits, and caramelised sugar with a sweet, smoky finish. This is the first time this combination of casks has been used in an Octomore.

Octomore 16.3 is the terroir geek’s dream. Made entirely from barley grown on Church Field at Octomore Farm on Islay, it showcases ultra-high provenance. With 189.5 PPM and aged in Bourbon, Sauternes, and Pedro Ximénez casks, the result is a flavour journey of toasted grain, honeyed malt, sea-salt salinity, and elegant smoke.

All three expressions are bottled at near-cask strength, un-chill filtered, and without added colour. They’re brought to life with spring water from Islay — a true taste of the island’s spirit.

Pop-Up Exhibition at Stamford Arts Centre

To celebrate the launch, Bruichladdich is hosting a multisensory exhibition at Stamford Arts Centre from 4–6 December. Expect immersive visuals, scent and sound experiences, and guided tastings that dive deep into Octomore’s character.

Visitors can enjoy a tasting flight of all three whiskies for S$32 (advance) or S$36 (on-site). Those who purchase the full set of three bottles will receive a complimentary whisky tasting set. Bottles will be available at special prices: S$280 for 16.1, S$298 for 16.2, and S$388 for 16.3.

Entry to the exhibition can be booked here.
