Seeing all the pictures of cream-filled croons from Swish Rolls made me want to check it out!

I tried their Earl Grey Yuzu Swiss Roll (S$5.80), Loaded Pistachio (S$5.80), Super Summer Berries (S$5.80), and Deep Dark Varlhona Chocolate (S$5.80).

Overall, I think their Earl Grey Yuzu Swiss Roll tastes the best. It’s made of Earl grey tea sponge cake with lemon yuzu curd and yoghurt cream, topped with earl grey cookie crumble. Not only does it taste refreshing, but it has also just the right amount of sweetness. It has a mild crunch as well from the cookie crumble.

The Loaded Pistachio is filled with pistachio cream; however, it was a little on the sweet side. In addition, the pistachio taste was not very prominent, it was mainly sweet cream. Furthermore, much to our dismay, the cream on the top of the croissant started melting 15 minutes after we bought them. So this is one of those eat-them-immediately kind of rolls.

The Super Summer Berries featured a combination of strawberries, raspberries, lemon, and cream. This flavour was also very sweet and tasted one-dimensional. For a person who has a sweet tooth, even I found it too sweet!

The Deep Dark Varlhona Chocolate contains Varlhona chocolate ganache and sea salt. This was an interesting combination as it tasted salty and bitter at the same time. If you’re not a fan of dark chocolate, then we wouldn’t recommended this as it’s pretty bitter.

Overall, all the croon croissants I tried paled in comparison to the Earl Grey Yuzu Swiss Roll. The croon croissants were also too jelak and it’s recommended that you share them with someone.

In addition, it’s note that there are only 2 baking timeslots for the shop, one at 9.30 am and at 1 pm. Hence to ensure that you get your croissants, it’s advised to go before the baking time and join the queue.

There are two small tables for you to consume the swiss rolls and croons, provided they are not occupied as the tables and chairs are shared with the shop beside. Most people opt for takeaway, as there is usually no space to consume the food around that area.

If you’re around the area for a picnic at Botanic Gardens, you can pop by to get some sweet treats!
