At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy
At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy is the first culinary academy in Singapore to be awarded with the National Continuing Education and Training Institution (NCI) accreditation, which allows the academy to administer nationally recognized diplomas with a generous 70% fee subsidies for both Singaporeans and permanent residents. Named after the scrumptious and highly aromatic “allspice” herb that originates from Jamaica and the Caribbean regions, Allspice Institute was founded in 2009 with the vision to develop an international culinary arts and hospitality institution. The institute has a strong focus and emphasis on local heritage cuisines such as Peranankan.
The centrally located school also has the only fully equipped and dedicated Japanese cuisine teaching facilities in Singapore. One can learn how to make sushi handrolls, tempura moriawase, agedashi tofu, bento boxes and other Japanese favourites totally from scratch. Another unique feature of this school is an organic edible garden that is situated along a lengthy outdoor corridor and that showcases an extensive array of exotic herbs and spices such as vanilla, turmeric, basil, and of course the distinctive namesake allspice.
