Do you like beef? Do you like Japanese cuisine? Do you like Gyudon and Sukiyaki? Then Keisuke’s latest Sukiyaki Don is a bowl of happiness that combines sukiyaki and gyudon…only for S$14.90++! If you want to make it a real treat, they even have the A4 wagyu version at S$29.90.
Nestled in a corner of Tanjong Pagar, the place is a little hard to find from the outside as the signboard is only on the inside of the building. But you can look out for the stools on the outside or follow your nose.
Every order comes with chawanmushi and a bowl of miso soup too! While you’re waiting for your good to be cooked in front of you (yes, they cook it fresh in front of you), you can munch on the pickled vegetables which are also complimentary.
Once the Sukiyaki Don is served, they will also give you a soft boiled egg for you to pour on top to give it the creamy eggy goodness that is a signature of a sukiyaki. And it’s a don because…well, it’s all on top of rice.
Although I didn’t get the wagyu but the US Prime beef, it was tender and very delicious. Especially for that price, it is very very worth it.
If you can’t eat beef, they also have the pork version as well as a Pork Tamago Don.
Do note that Keisuke doesn’t take any reservations and the place is small and cosy, sitting up to 14pax. You will end up smelling a little like cooked beef after the meal, but it’s totally worth it!
