Cooking Dinner For Parents’ Birthdays

I decided to slave away in the kitchen to celebrate my parents’ birthday and upon request of my mother, I made my signature Century Egg Tofu as an appetiser. I also added a bit of shirataki noodles tossed with fish roe but it wasn’t quite mentaiko, so the taste was a little disappointing.

For mains, I went with pan seared miso salmon which set on top of a bed of mashed potatoes. The highlight for me was the bacon-wrapped asparagus!

For dessert, I decided to be really lazy so I bought Ginger Cookie premix and moulded it at the base of my muffin tray to create cups for Rum & Raisin ice cream. It was a bit of a sugar overload but heck…it’s once a year!
